New Name

So I've changed the name of the fest to "The Moldy VHS Movie Fest" instead of "Chaotic Movie Fest". Why? Well for starters, it rhymes. :D Actually I wanted a little bit of Bermuda and a little bit of my personal experience in the title; also a title like "Chaotic" might come across the wrong way. You know ... people might actually think the event is poorly planned or a mess or something and would be less likely to come and see it. Chaotic is also less inspiring and original as well as not representing anything this fest is about.

How did I get "Moldy VHS"? That's easy. After returning to Bermuda when just a teen, my family brought along a large part of our much beloved VHS collection (cause VHS tapes were still popular back in 01'). After a few months in Bermuda's humid weather our tapes grew mold on them. They weren't wrecked but I thought this aspect of this isle gave the tapes an interesting character - they had a little static fuzz here and there when played, and smelled that rich musky Bermuda mold smell. Those VHS tapes were old anyhow - from the early 90's and older. In the states they were covered in dust, here mold and thus the title. Had I did this fest State or Canada-side it would have had the title of "The Dusty VHS". Obscure, hardly seen or old films would be in various states of negligence or overuse (because there is only that ooooooone copy). They would have the mold on them as they sat ignored on a video shelf. Let us wipe away some of that mold, sit back, endure the poor quality and watch them. Of course, meh, I'll be using DVD's.
